Charlotte Olympia "TO DIE FOR"

VOGUE released an articled early this year in February entitled TO DIE FOR, which is  the name for the 2011/2012 Autumn/Winter CHARLOTTE OLYMPIA Collection! The article focuses on the launch of the shoe line, it's inspirations, and a DRAMATIC FILM that demonstrates what the TO DIE FOR collection is all about!

Inspired by Agatha Christie, the film portrays and imitates the characters that she has played in vintage films. Personally, the film tells a story of lust, sex appeal, and intimacy, but Charlotte Dellal, of Charlotte Olympia shoes, explains that "she has created a surreal murder mystery film to unveil the autumn/winter 2011-12 collection."

In the article VOGUE's own Lauren Milligan insists that the collection signatures Dellal's "humour and vintage-inspired glamour - both understated, via sleek brushed ostrich skin; and dramatic, cue oodles of sparkling stones." If no one understood the idea or the reasons for Dellal's choice of fabrics this article definitely provides great insight.

Despite that Jams (the director of the video) and Dellal's interpretation makes since in terms of what the film and TO DIE FOR THEME is all about, I just see it different! I think that the theme TO DIE FOR demonstrates the fact that the shoes in the collection are so gorgeous that they are made "to die for!" As an expression many individuals tend to say that they would die to have a certain pair of shoes!

With the shoes being designed with leopard prints and ostrich skin, the theme says a lot about beautiful animals dieing for the creation of a flawless shoe, which makes the shoe TO DIE FOR! I can go on about how I interpret the flim and the theme for the Charlotte Olympia collection but what do you think?

However, it's apparent that the shoes and the film give off a sense of DRAMA! TO DIE FOR is a collection that is overbearing with SILK PLATFORMSLEOPARD PRINT 6' inch wedges like MARTHA and booties like Alice Siamese, and embedded CAT FACES on pumps like the KITTY.  Celebrities like Olivia Palermo and Khloe Kardashian have been seen wearing the shoes from the collection. If you you would like to see what the TO DIE FOR collection about you can purchase a pair from the official Charlotte Olympia website, Nordstrom, Bergdorf Goodman, and Neiman Marcus!

SIXby6Bloggers Exclusive launch Party

Most fashion lovers dream to visit and even live in Paris one day! Paris speaks VINTAGE, CHANEL, and most of all HISTORIC FASHION! Speaking of history, the London based shoe company Six, makers of shoes for Opening Ceremony bSTORE and Ksubi, made history when they successfully launched a project called Sixby6 bloggers. The London based shoe company collaborated with six influential fashion bloggers to creatively construct their dream shoe design for a limited production. The six fashion bloggers chosen by the London based shoe company Six were Susie Lau, Caroline Blomst, Alix Bancourt, Leandra Medine, Steve Salter, and Yvan Ridoc. The launch party for the six amazing shoes was breath taking, eye gazing, and heaven to all shoe lovers!

Here the six handpicked bloggers and their dream shoe's that they designed...

The shoe to the left is entitled "STYLE BUBBLE"
and was created by
international designer/blogger

SUSIE BUBBLE.

The Launch Party in Paris...

The footage of the launch party in Paric captured the beauty, dedication, and love that bloggers have for FASHION and Shoe. I'ts amazing to see bloggers successfully design wearable fashion forward foot wear despite the fact that they normally do not design shoes! The footage allows the bloggers to actually come to life as they are seen and heard speaking about their designs rather than reading quotes or just viewing photographs. The Sixby6 bloggers project was very successfully and all of the shoe designs are absolutely fabolous. After all "Paris" is the place where FASHION LIVES! LOL

I was eager to view the shoe's that Susie Bubble (Susie Lau) came up with because she is such a great fashion forward individual. The color blocking, the loud colors, and the blocked heel screams Japan street fashion to me! I couldn't see myself wearing them, but I would definitely recommend them to a few fashion lovers! The mens "style savage" by Steve Salter was very appealing to the eye. I honestly believe that the shoe would have a high demand because it's simple but dramatic all at the same time! The shoe can be paired with a casual look and also a conservative dressy look as well, and I love a versatile mens shoe.  The Cherry Blossom Girl shoe is extremly feminine and for the girly girl type. The rhinestones and satin material says so much about the designer and the shoes inspiration.

The Man Repeller is a edgy chic boot that I would wear on a nice fall day. They seem a bit dangerous because of the spikes but other than that I love, LOVE, love them. Carolines Mode is a shoe that does nothing for me. I am not a lover of the cow girl boot trend, however, it is wearable but NOT BY ME. Last, the Man Hunter is a clean and stylishly polished shoe for men. If you are interested in purchasing any of the six pairs of shoes they can be found on farfetch.com or on sixlondon.com. It's safe to say that the six bloggers are official shoe designers and should continue to design shoes, but who knows?!?!

SHOES MAKE ME HAPPY :)

There is always that moment of a first glance and then a blank stare which leads to a pivotal place in your body that makes you feel a unique urge, excitement, sex appeal, happiness, or glamor. YES... I'M MOST DEFINITELY REFERRING TO THE POWER OF A FASHIONABLE SHOE. Levitation and gravitation are two ways that I metaphorically express the power of what a shoe can do.  However, there are some individuals who just can't understand and are not inclined with the obsession, the need, and the lifestyle of a SHOE LOVER, AND THAT'S FINE! There's always someone who will say shoe's are just shoe's, what's the big deal, or "I'm not into fashion" with a blunt lack of interest!

Six feet in the air, mentally grounded, and physically levitated... a shoe just does it for me! Just a stare, just one shoe on, just a picture of it, and even the feel of the intricate details MAKES ME HAPPY! To better understand how shoes have come to hold such an imperative spot in the lives of  the modern and traditional men and women of yesterdays and today's world of fashion VIEW THE MINI- DOCUMENTARY FILM BELOW! The film features testimonials from global shoe phenomenons like Christian Louboutin, Manolo Blahnik, Walter Steiger, Pierre Hardy, Bruno Frisoni, and Robert Clergerie. Shoe fetishists and celebrity fashion icons Fergie, Kelly Rowland, and Dita Von Teese.

This mini-documentary explains why fashion is more than just a way of life from so many perspectives!!! Hopefully you'll understand why A SHOE IS MORE THAN JUST A SHOE!!

Tracee Ellis Ross at the 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards

The 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards aired on Tuesday October 12th and was held at the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center in Atlanta Georgia. There's always a need to look out for the best and the worst celebrity shoes during any award show!!!!! Facebook, twitter, and all the social feeds were flooded with comments regarding the MAJOR event! Outside of the performances and the awards, FASHION on the Red Carpet is one thing that everyone loves to discuss. I was primarily focused on the Fashion DONT'S and I was disappointed when I saw Tracee Ellis Ross!

The suede Christian Louboutin Forever Tina Fringe Boot was done all WRONG! I am not a fan of the fringe boot  and secondly Tracee failed at pairing the boot with a 3/4 inch sleeve shimmer mini dress! The sued fringe Christian Louboutin boots look horrendous by themselves, but even worse with the dress because they are not polished enough for the dress! This is a edgy look that has been done all wrong. Tracee should have worn a sexy, chic, polished pump or sling black shoe to compliment her long legs and the curves that the drees reveal! It seems as if she mixed a winter boot with a summer/fall dress and that's an extreme
FASHION DON'T!
I would honestly love to ask her if she was a little over heated with the calf high SUEDE boot? Or if she walked outside unaware of what the weather would be since the BET Awards was held in Atlanta Georgia! Her outfit is very misguided and nothing to be posing and smiling about on the Red Carpet! I blame Tracee for even allowing her stylist to let her walk on the Red Carpet with those fringe SUEDE boots. Is it me or do you feel different? I'll defend my opinion about Tracee's assemble to the end because she really paired those shoes with the wrong thing! It's clear that they are Christian Louboutin boots, but that does not make it right for her to wear them with that summer shimmer dress!!!! So with that being said I suggest that you pair your shoes with the correct assemble because if not you will be critiqued, judged, and looking a hot mess like Tracee Ellis Ross!

TOMS SHOES

There are pretty shoes, cute boots, the popular basketball sneakers, and then there are these things called TOMS shoes that everyone seems to be going crazy over! Apparently, the next best thing in men, women, and children shoe collections are TOMS.  The Canvas slip ons are available in numerous patterns, classic solid colors, weird prints, and the jaw dropping patterns like leopard, hounds tooth, zebra etc. A wide of celebrities like Anne Hathaway, Julian Roberts, Brad Pitt, and Scarlett Johanssen have been seen sporting them consistently. This ordinary shoe that "the celebrities wear" has been said to be extremely comfortable, stylish and affordable.

        Celebrities CAUGHT wearing TOMS!

TOMS shoes are more than just a stylish ordinary shoe, but rather a representation of goodwill, eco-friendly, and philanthropy. These shoes were founded and created by Blake Mycoskie with one objective and many motives! The company provides a pair of new TOMS shoes to a child in need every single time a pair of TOMS shoes are purchased! So whenever you purchase a pair of TOMS shoes your giving a new pair of shoes to a child in a third world country, while preventing them from all types of diseases that can be obtained from walking barefoot. The TOMS shoes "One for One" movement has created a versatile market of consumers that ranges from young, mid-aged, old, celebrities, and every socially economic class in the world. You should join in and support a good cause while wearing a pair of awesome gravitated shoes!

Blake carrying out the "ONE for ONE" mission!

Even though I am not CRAZY about the overall design and layout of the canvis TOMS shoe I would wear them just to support the mission of giving! SHOES should make you happy and whether the appearance is stunning or not they will definately make a statement, fashionable complement a wordrabe, and change everything about the confidence in your step. So be like the celebrities and make people wonder why you chose TOMS over uggs or an ordinary slip and go purcharse your first pair! TOMS shoes can be found and purchased on ebay, zappos, major department stores like Nordstrom & Neiman Marcus, and the official TOMS Shoes website.

You can be STYLISH and ECO-FRIENDLY all at one time with a pair of TOMS SHOES!

Fun Shoes & Bold Risks...

Be the center of attention, take a bold shoe risk, and own every levitated step you take with  a pair of Bakers Shoes that are funky, spunk, and less than 100.00! Some shoe critics may think that the IRATE Bakers shoe (below) are not appealing in any aspect. While others (like me) will fall instantly in love with them. This innovative animal leopard print wedge shows the power of  what a wedge heel can possibly do.

The Irate Wedge is a representation of drama and animal print done correctly, so don't worry about being tacky or out of place. Loosen up and put on your best and steal the show with these wedges. With a shoe that has so much going on I would definately reccommend wearing solid colors like all white or denim to let the shoe speak for itself! These wedge heels can also be easily worn with a simple skinny straight legged denim jean, or a pretty skin tight or flowy dress that stops above the knee! Too much goin on with your wardrobe can easily unflatter your assemble, since the shoes have a lot already going on!

Would YOU wear them?

In terms of CONFIDENCE, LEVITATION, and GRAVITATION this shoe has so much to offer! IRATE is a wedge that  has the ability to reflect how a shoe lover is actually feeling. Shoes like the IRATE Wedge  can not instill or provide confidence, but more so enhance and compliment an individuals level of confidence. So if your not bold enough do not take the risk because the eye stares will force you take these pretty peep toes off your feet immediately!!!!!

You can find these wedges on the official Bakers Shoes website for 99.00 along with many other endearing wedge heels. Shoes make me happy and the shoes above are all about expression. I would definitely take the risk and wear the IRATE Wedge, make the statement, and walk with every ounce of confidence in my body! I appreciate the weirdness and indifference in some shoes. Not every girl is content with the typical suede or leather pump, or the color block shoe, so add some spice with print, cut outs, and feathers. These shoes are what every girl needs to broaden their shoe collection!

GO GET THEM my shoe GURU'S :)

Yves Saint Laurent

When it comes to effortlessly complimenting a chic skin tight evening dress there's nothing better than to have OPTIONS! Yves Saint Laurent is a silent killer when women shoes are the topic of any conversation. After coming across two of the most classic YSL women shoes I was so eager to share them with my shoe guru's. Your typical wedge or platform pump doesn't bring anything new to your outfit and no form of levitation to the pep of your step. So, if you do not have either of these dominating shoe forces, then they have to be on the top of your shoeicide wish list :)

YSL Trib Too High Heel Pump
The YSL Trib Too High Heel Pump (on the left) is a combination of suede and patent leather. Classically safe, sexy, and a leg lover this shoe has the power to enhance your weekend-casual or elegant-evening wardrobe! The internal platform makes this pump look polished and chic as opposed to the exposed platforms. What do you think. The heel is only 4 inches so I wonder why they are called "too high heel" because 5 inches or more are too high. They are cost a lengthy 795.00 on the YSL Official Website. If you think the price is a pocket pincher just think of it as if it's less than 1,000 and way cheaper than a pair of Alexander McQueens :)

The all black suede YSL Trubute High Heel Slingback (below) is edgy, sexy, and sleek! They are not too simple but just enough innovation to make a bold statement. If I were given a choice to pick between the YSL slingback and the pump I would definitely go with the slingback. The gold encrusted metal chain that was inspired by previous YSL collections just does something for me!

YSL Tribute High Heel Slingback
A bright fingernail polish to accent the peep toe and the fringe would set the shoe off. The 4 inch suede slingback costs 995.00 on the official YSL website. Treat yourself with a shopping back from YSL because these two silent killers are this seasons "IT SHOES." It's not what your wear but how you wear it and the confidence it instills in the way you walk... YSL!
